“Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal” is the most important new thing on the Internet today.
Not since Brando refused to take his cough medicine… Forget about the bedazzled Baz Luhrmann “Great Gatsby” update. The most innovative contribution to American cinema has been released in seven second intervals from writer/director Ryan McHenry. These Vine videos capture the quiet intensity of Gosling’s many performance, then they up the stakes by adding in the creeping menace of a spoonful of cereal that Gosling simply does. not. want. No amount of “here comes the airplane” will make this master thespian break character, but it’s sure fun to watch the plane circle the runway, ie. Gos’s pouty mouth. Ten years ago today, my band released our debut album Take This To Your Grave. We were just four unsuspecting Midwestern nerds named after a moderately obscure Simpsons character, living life like the background characters in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. We were totally unprepared for everything that…
Sharing this little beauty of an entry about a day or so late because this album and this band mean the world to me.
“I could write it better than you ever felt it” may not be on this album, but it’s the most truthful statement this band could bestow upon me.
